Important Message About Nov. 15 Concert Tickets

We were recently notified by California Center for the Arts that tickets for our two upcoming Celebration of Music Educators Concerts on November 15 must be purchased directly through their box office.  The venue requires that each ticket buyer has an assigned seat and no longer allows general admission.

Ticket sales through the SDYS web site and parent portal have been suspended. Tickets are available only through the California Center for the Arts Box Office.  SDYS cares about keeping your tickets as affordable as possible and has negotiated to have all convenience charges and transaction fees that would normally apply waived for this concert.

If you have already purchased tickets through SDYS, a CCAE representative will call you to help you select the seats that best suit your needs.

We will no longer be able to sell tickets to this concert at rehearsals, through our office or on our website.

Remember to invite your teachers. The CCAE Box Office will provide two free tickets to all Music Educators.

2016 Student Voices Campaign

Today we launch the 2016 Student Voices Campaign, calling on students throughout California to share their creativity through short original videos, based on the campaign theme, "Your Voice. Your Vision. Your School."

In California, students are guaranteed a voice in planning and budgeting for their school district. The Local Control Funding Formula, or LCFF, requires that districts consult with students, parents, teachers and community members each spring to create an official plan for the coming years.

The Student Voices Campaign is a creative way for young people to make their voices heard in their local school districts. Students in grades 7-12 are invited to create videos that show what inspires their creativity, imagination and passion, and share them with their local school board by April 1, 2016. Watch and share the Alliance's animated video about the importance of student voices:
