Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ. Colossians 4: 2-3.

Dear Mission Prayer Partners,

As I prepare this email, I am so mindful of the power of God who speaks to us in the sounds of a storm like Sandy as well as in the echo of quietness when the wind stills and the rain stops.  I give thanks for his mercy that spares us from great harm and keeps us safe - especially in the midst of a hurricane or an unexpected blizzard. We remember all of God's children who are suffering from the impact of the storm and lift them up to the Lord for comfort and healing. We also give thanks to God for the first responders who braved great odds to be a present help in the midst of danger. Finally we pray for open eyes and ready hearts in our own lives that we are moved to respond with acts of compassion and kindness as we help those who have been impacted by this storm.

I do not have an update for you from the Dulles South Mission. Keep praying that God will direct a mission planter to this project. They have been calling and waiting for more than two years. We pray that any obstacle that would prevent this opportunity from becoming a vibrant congregation reaching a new community with the Gospel of Jesus would be overcome.

Join with me in giving thanks to God for the many answered prayers in the ministry of New Hope, Midlothian VA. They celebrate the gift of Pastor Tom Clocker who joined them earlier this year. In addition, we pray for Director Chrissy Campbell and their growing Open Arms Child Development Center. We pray for all who serve in this ministry that their love for the Lord overflows into the lives of the children and their families.

As always, thank you for your mission prayer support - they are making an eternal difference.

10:02 am Prayers for the Harvest and Workers
Don't forget to set your cell phones alarm/alert to 10:02 a.m. and pray for the Harvest and Workers. Luke 10:2 Jesus told them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."
Acts 10:2 We read, "A devout man who feared God with all his household, gave alms generously to the people, and prayed continually to God." Let us join hearts in praying continually for those around us who do not yet know Jesus as Lord and Savior.
