A Gelbvieh Arrival

Rebecca will be on maternity leave until November 16, 2015. If you have any questions regarding AGA editorial content and publications, please contact McKenzie Smith, interim editor: mckenzies@gelbvieh.org.

Changes to DNA Results Viewing and Invoicing
As we move into another busy DNA season, the AGA staff would like to inform members of changes being made to the DNA services. DNA results can now be viewed online by order number. Log into your AGA registry service and navigate to the 'DNA' page. You can view status updates on individual orders and results contained in those orders on the 'Order Summary' page. Notifications that DNA requests are complete and results are ready to be viewed will be sent out to individual members. However, results will no longer be sent out via email.

A change in billing procedures has also taken place. Rather than receiving an invoice in the mail for DNA testing, a charge on your account will be automatically billed and updated at the time of submission. Members will then be able to go into their account and pay the balance due for DNA testing via credit card.

Members with questions or concerns are encouraged to contact the AGA office at 303-465-2333 or email info@gelbvieh.org.

Data Due October 30 for Winter EPD Run

Please submit any and all data you would like included in the Winter National Cattle Evaluation EPD run by October 30. Any data that is submitted after this date is not guaranteed to be included in the run.

Convention Highlight: AGA 101

Learn how to get more involved with the AGA through the AGA 101 event that will be taking place during convention on Friday, December 11, starting at 7:00 p.m. This event will provide an in-depth look at how to get further involved with your association, including what it is like to be on the AGA Board of Directors. Don't miss presentations from current board members and staff that will help you get the most out of your membership!

Register for convention online by clicking the link below. For more information, visit the National Convention page under the Membership tab at www.gelbvieh.org.
Show Photos in Gelbvieh World

Individuals wanting show photos from the American Royal and North American International Livestock Exposition (NAILE) to appear in Gelbvieh World must send them to gelbviehmedia@gmail.com. The AGA will not have these photos on file unless sent in from members. Please submit photos from the American Royal by November 4 and photos from the NAILE by December 4.

Send in Ring of Gold Show Results

Don't forget to send in show results from qualifying shows for Ring of Gold (ROG) points. Each state is responsible to send official show results to the AGA. Points will be based on number of head shown within the Gelbvieh division and Balancer® division separately, not on total Gelbvieh and Balancer shown. In order for a state show to become a sanctioned ROG point show, each state association must meet and follow the requirements listed below:
  • A show must meet the minimum requirement of 20 head.
  • Any state fair, state show, recognized regional level show with 20 or more head shown is eligible as an ROG show, regardless of the previous year's entry numbers.
  • Each ROG point show is allowed a Gelbvieh and a Balancer division.
Please send show results to info@gelbvieh.org. For more information including rules and guidelines, visit the Ring of Gold page at www.gelbvieh.org.
