Changes to DNA Results Viewing

As we move into another busy DNA season, the AGA staff would like to inform members of changes being made to the DNA services. DNA results can now be viewed by order number on the DNA page of the AGA Registry Service. Here, status updates on individual orders and results from those orders can be viewed on the Order Summary page. Notifications that DNA requests are complete and results are ready to be viewed will be sent out to individual members. However, results will no longer be sent out via email.

Members with additional questions or concerns are encouraged to contact the AGA office at 303-465-2333 or email info@gelbvieh.org.

Raw Data Accessibility

The AGA is committed to providing the most accurate information to breeders as tools for genetic selection. As a result of this goal, the AGA Board of Directors voted in August 2015 to restrict publication of raw performance data of an animal on the AGA registry system to the breeder and current owner of that animal. The AGA hopes this will encourage producers to use EPDs and Indexes for selection tools, which produce a greater amount of genetic change due to an increased amount of information included in EPD and Index calculations. Breeders are still able to determine and share what data they provide to their customers for the sale of animals.
