Time is Running Out to Complete Herd Assessments!

Herd Assessments are due Monday, March 16. If you have not already completed your 2015 Herd Assessment please do so as soon as possible. If you have questions about completing this process, download the written guide below or call the American Gelbvieh Association office at 303-465-2333.

How to: Complete 2015 Herd Assessments

New DNA Testing Requirements for Natural Service Sires of 2016 Born Calves

According to a new rule passed by the AGA Board of Directors in August 2014, all pasture sires used in the 2015 breeding season are now required to have a Genomic Option #2 (GGP-LD) test and the associated Genomic Enhanced EPDs (GE-EPDs) in order for their 2016 born calves to be recorded in the AGA Herdbook.

Start planning ahead and DNA testing your bulls now so that recording 2016 calves will not be held up by this requirement.

Refer to the View of the Numbers article in the March 2015 Gelbvieh World for an in-depth look at the requirements.

Send Us the Sale Report

The AGA would like to feature your sale report in the Gelbvieh World publication and on www.gelbvieh.org in the Sale Reports listing under the Exchange tab. Please send sale reports to Rebecca Mettler at rebeccam@gelbvieh.org.

AGA Staff Changes

The American Gelbvieh Association (AGA) would like to thank Susan Willmon for 10 years of service. The AGA is grateful for the accomplishments that have taken place during Susan's tenure and is thankful for the contributions Susan has made to the AGA.

The staff and AGA Board of Directors would also like to extend our best wishes to Susan in her future endeavors.

The team of Kari White, Kelli Retallick, Dianne Coffman, Dolores Gravley and Patti Showman will continue meeting the needs of Gelbvieh stakeholders in a dynamic industry that requires increased accurate information and cattle that have the potential for profit at each stage of the supply chain.
