THE VAN STORY
It's me Stephanie. :) I was driving the trusty tour van that has served this nonprofit faithfully for the past seven years, known affectionately as Rosie (after the riveter). It was July 5th and I was going southbound on Academy in Colorado Springs. A distracted driver plowed into the back of our vehicle while we were at a full stop (causing our vehicle to collide with the vehicle in front of us). The van was a totaled. Ouch!
Since then I have been aware, prayerful and a bit anxious too because I knew that a new vehicle purchase was imminent. I researched vehicles and, in fact, researched every used van that is for sale through ebay in the entire country. I made lots of calls and now God has provided an amazing replacement. The van is generously being sold to us at wholesale to further our work. It's a 2007, nine-passenger, GMC Savanna, Limited Edition Explorer SE High Top Conversion Van, to be exact. It is perfect. With eight cylinders and a six-liter engine it is powerful enough to pull our trailer full of equipment over mountain passes safely for miles. This is the vehicle we need to continue to expand our juvenile detention center work, this is the vehicle we need to grow our benefit concert program, and this is the vehicle we need to produce our many upcoming tours across the country, transporting volunteers and musicians to all of these events. This kind of vehicle is not cheap, so the deal he is giving our nonprofit is phenomenal.
With great faith, I put $3,000 down on it. We now need to raise the rest of the needed funds by October 3rd. I know we can do it.
This van will serve the volunteers and workers involved in this mission so well. I am so excited about the work to come in the next few years, and I can see it playing out from town to town, juvenile detention center to juvenile detention center, with this van delivering us safely to the events and concerts More than Music (MtM) produces across the country.

Finally, More than Music's PNP Benefit Concert Program is EXPANDING
|
More than Music has long planned to expand our Partner Non Profit Benefit Concert Program and, finally, we are in position to do JUST THAT. Thanks in part to the recent arrival of the newest member of the awesome MtM team.
Amanda Schroeder is an energetic, motivated, organized, global, but detailed thinker and is our new Event Specialist helping to spearhead the effort as we lead other organizations through the process of funding, planning, promoting and producing successful benefit concerts.
We have already worked with 7 different reputable non profit organizations or missionaries raising funds to further their work. In total, so far we have raised $110,000 for other worthy causes since 2010. Now those numbers are set to expand exponentially. We are in discussion with GREAT organizations in TX, WA, and MN, about using our developing event template to host annual benefit concerts for them. We will be continuing to partner with Youth for Christ in Colorado Springs as well (Look for that concert in May of 2016). The organizations that are seeking our help do wonderful work int he world, from holistically aiding ravaged communities in Africa, to helping women and their children to a better place here in the states, offering housing, discipleship, and a healing community for women escaping the bondage of drug addiction, and crisis situations, and finally, they are planting domestic abuse centers, and safe houses around the world.
THIS IS WORK WE WANT TO DRIVE FORWARD! Praise God for the opportunity to use MUSIC as a way to MARRY these MINISTRIES with the MONEY they need!
