Wine Lover Friends,
Festivals are favorite outings for Virginians, particularly wine festivals. They provide opportunities to learn about Virginia's wonderful wines and to visit some of the state's most interesting sites. There are wine festivals in every region of Virginia this month, and we are pleased to feature just a few in this issue.
June gets underway with our very own festival on the banks of the James River on June 11 when the James River Wine & Music Festival returns to its original venue in Riverfront Park. The same day in Newport News, the 15th annual Summer Celebration Wine Festival will be held on the grounds of Lee Hall Mansion. Bushels & Barrels Local Food, Wine & Beer Festival returns to Reynolds Homestead on June 17 & 18. Rounding out the month is the Shenandoah Valley Wine & Jazz Festival at the Frontier Culture Museum in Staunton on June 25.
The June Winery of the Month is Cooper Vineyards in Louisa, conveniently located off I64 just a short drive from Richmond, Charlottesville and Fredericksburg. Make a point to visit this month.
Hope to see you along the wine trail . . . Cheers!
