Around Town with Molly: A Blog

TLC Wellness
848 Broadway, West Cape May

"I think I can, I know I can, I did it." This is the mantra of Carol Pittaluga, one of the instructors at TLC Wellness in West Cape May. My coworker and I attended a morning Yoga Basics class with Carol and left feeling more relaxed and energized than we had walking in. The bright and positive ambiance of her studio was the perfect place to be on a sunny summer day to unwind and try new things.

Knowing I was about to stretch my body in ways I never have before, I came into the studio shy and apprehensive of what I was about to do. Carol guided us through proper stability techniques and gave us a run down on the best and correct ways of breathing. This made our first sun salutation less difficult for us since we were moving in the correct ways. Although moving in a different way wasn't easy, the difficult part was forgetting the world around you and focusing on the present. Carol made the experience tranquil and soothing, easing us away from life's distractions and helping us connect to ourselves.

I know I will be seeing Carol again soon whether it be at her Yoga basics class, a drum circle, or at her wellness workshops that take place every other Wednesday. TLC doesn't just stand for tender love and care. It is a Therapeutic Lifestyle Change, and the studio offers much more than physical benefits, but also a sound body and sound mind.
