Three simple ways to support and celebrate
Jonathan Daniels House (JDH) is set to open this fall. But between now and then, this fledgling diocesan ministry can use a little help.
Here are three simple ways to get involved:
1. JDH needs to furnish a 3-bedroom apartment with good-quality used furniture -- everything from tables to towels to teaspoons. Do you have something you can spare?
2. JDH is still accepting applications. If you know interested college grads in their 20s or early 30s, please encourage them to apply ASAP!
3. Plan to celebrate the opening of JDH with Evensong at Church of the Transfiguration in Cranston on Jonathan Daniels Day (Thursday, August 14, at 6:30 p.m.).
Get full details about donations, applications, and the opening celebration.

What are you hungry for?
"You've heard the old yarn: Episcopalians are the only ones God trusts to take the summer off."
So writes Richelle Thompson, ECF Vital Practices blogger and managing editor for Forward Movement.
"We laugh," she continues. "But underneath is the grain of truth: a lot of Episcopalians do take the summer off...."
This has led Thompson's church to look at what offerings are strong enough to draw folks into deeper connection with their parish no matter the time of year.
The good news is that there are some clear trends, and asking the right questions can help uncover not just what people are hungry for, but also what fits into their schedule. (Hint: It might not be Sunday mornings.)
Here's what Thompson's church has learned.
