Register for Learn & Lead: Forming Faithful Leaders

Saturday, March 1st
9:00 AM to 3:30 PM
St. Luke's Episcopal Church in East Greenwich

Healthy, faithful, and effective churches require leaders who embody those same characteristics. But many churches suffer from a shortage of leadership and the overwhelming sense that too few people are doing too much of the heavy lifting. How can we raise up and form new healthy, faithful and effective leaders for the future?

The Congregational Development Commission invites all current and future leaders to a daylong seminar that will feature a keynote address from Bishop Knisely to set out his vision for Christian leadership in the Diocese of Rhode Island, as well as five workshops which will explore various aspects of this important topic.

Lent is not Rocket Science by Bishop Knisely

The season of Lent prompts us to ask about the nature of our being and our role in the world.

This Lent, we invite you to explore the intersection of faith and science, creation and the cosmos, in a newly published daily devotional written by astronomer and physicist (and our very own Bishop of Rhode Island) W. Nicholas Knisely.

In Lent is Not Rocket Science: An Exploration of God, Creation and the Cosmos, Bishop Knisely reflects on every level of creation, explaining significant and sometimes complex scientific concepts in a clear, succinct way through the lens of faith, and invites us to ask our own questions and ponder a response.

Episcopal Charities 5% over their goals

The Episcopal Charities Fund of Rhode Island set out to raise $400,000 in 2013.

It was an ambitious number, particularly in the current economic climate -- but you rose to the occasion in a big way.

Total donations in 2013 came to $420,000, or 5% over our goal!

Many, many thanks to donors, volunteers, and our social services agencies. Together, we are changing lives in our community. Read the full story or view our unique celebration.
