From the Bishop
On Same-Sex Blessings

In the material that was passed by Diocesan Council regarding our guidelines for same-sex marriages, there is an expectation that Vestry decisions would be sent to the Bishop's Office as your resolutions are passed.

In only a few cases have I received the minutes from the meeting where the decision was made, and a full copy of the resolution. If your Vestry or Bishop's Committee has acted, would you please double check to make sure that I have received the minutes from the appropriate meeting?

A reminder also that the General Convention's action has allowed provisional use of the published liturgies only. As you use the published liturgy, remember that you are to write a report on the blessing and send it to my office, as I am expected to report back to the Standing Commission on Liturgy and Music. They will use this, and any feedback you would like to provide on the approved liturgy, to revise the liturgy and guidelines at the next General Convention in Salt Lake City.

New Clergy Chaplain
I would also like to announce that The Rev. Jo Ann Drake has accepted my appointment as Clergy Chaplain, to succeed The Rev. Stephanie Shoemaker in the position. Thank you, Stephanie, for your ministry this past year!

Eucharistic Visitor Certification

Do you have potential new Eucharistic Visitors in your parish? Great to hear! Just remember, they must complete our diocesan training to be licensed by the Bishop.

In advance of the training, all participants must complete the Eucharistic Visitor Application and have it signed by you so we know the applicant has your full approval. The Application is in our Forms Library online

The next Eucharistic Visitor training is on Wednesday, November 13, 6-9 p.m. in the Diocesan Annex.  A light snack will be provided. Register now
