Open Doors
The fall is upon us and this year many RI Episcopal churches are participating in LeaderResources' OPEN DOORS program. The program offers practice in being inviting churches rather than just welcoming churches. OPEN DOORS features a series of events that are easy for parishioners to invite families with children to, and that have a low barrier of entry for those with little church background. Saturday Sept 15th was the first of these events, and all over RI our churches held neighborhood "Back to School Parties" (see which churches). Then this past Sunday, churches gave families a fun reason to come to church on a Sunday, for a "blessing of the backpacks" (find one here).
If you have stories or pictures from these events at your church email Ruth Meteer so she can share them with our other churches.Next up in OPEN DOORS is the Blessing of the Animals on October 6th. If your church is holding this event but isn't listed on our website here let us know, we will be running some online ads featuring that page, to make it easy for visitors to find a participating church near them.

The House of Bishops Bishop Knisely is in Nashville at a meeting of the House of Bishops (HoB) at the moment.
