Second Night Passover Seder

It's time to make your reservation and select the food item you'll bring for the Second Seder on Saturday, April 23.

We'll begin with a Havdalah at 6 p.m., followed by the seder and our celebratory meal.

Here's a quick summary of the food list; when you reserve via phone or email, you'll be asked to select an item to bring.

Main and Side Dishes:
Chicken Soup with Matzoh Balls
Brisket, approximately 4 lb. each
Salmon, approximately 4 lb. each
Matzoh Kugel, large
Carrot Tsimmes, large
Green vegetables, hot
Roasted root vegetables, hot
Sweet potatoes, large batch
Green Salad

Desserts:

Flourless Cake
Kosher for Passover non-dairy items
Fruit

In order to defray other expenses for the event, there will be a charge, with payment due when you make your reservation.

$10 individual member
$18 couple, member
$15 individual non-member
$20 couple, non-member

Seating for non-members and guests will be limited, as we need to accommodate our members first.

As Passover approaches, there are members of our Beth Or community that would like to celebrate the first night of Passover in a home setting. If you'd like to host Beth Or member(s), please let me know right away.

If you would like to attend a Seder in someone's home, please let me know too. Please be aware that I am gathering a list and cannot guarantee that anyone will be placed.

Adult Education

Our April Adult Education with Rabbi Kram will be on Tuesday, April 26th at 7:30 PM at the Temple. The topic will be "Death, dying, the reality of end of life issues, coping skills for terminal illnesses, etc." This is an issue that affects all of us at some point in our lives. Hopefully, we can learn something that will help us in this difficult process as we and our loved ones age.

The Yard Sale Approaches!!

Yes, there is a yard sale this year! The dates of the yard sale are May 22nd and May 29, and possibly June 5.

Volunteers are needed during and after the dropoff periods to start the sorting and arranging work. The more hands, the better. We'll have clothing racks set up and ready. Please get in touch with the Temple office or Marcy Prince to volunteer.

Saturday, April 30, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Clothing only!
Sunday, May 1, 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. Clothing only!

Saturday, May 7, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
No dropoff Sunday, May 8, as it's Mother's Day
Saturday, May 14, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Sunday, May 15, 2 p.m. - 5 p.m.

No dropoffs on Mondays, please. No one is here to receive them.

It's Now More Affordable to Celebrate with an Oneg Shabbat!

Effective immediately, the rates for an Oneg Shabbat sponsorship have been reduced as follows:

$25 to cover the table setting, drinks, cutlery and paper goods if you bring the goodies

$100 to cover the complete package: shopping and food prep, table setting, drinks, cutlery and paper goods

Anyone booking an Oneg Shabbat from this time forward will be charged at the new, lower rates.

Oneg Dates are available at various time during the 2015-16 year!

Do you have a family birthday, anniversary, yahrzeit, or another occasion -- or just for no particular reason at all??

It's a wonderful opportunity to recognize, remember, and celebrate with the Beth Or community on Shabbat.

We can and will carefully select the veggies and herbs to maximize output, with proven techniques such as companion planting, insect control, etc. With today's high prices, a garden is economically desirable. Plus, it is a part of a healthy lifestyle, providing hands-on education and a social communal experience.
