Shir Appeal Concert
January 12, 2016, at Beth Or

We are privileged and excited to host the award-winning Tufts University a cappella choir, Shir Appeal, on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 7:30 PM.

They have traveled from coast to coast, singing in a wide variety of languages and musical styles: Israeli pop and rock, traditional liturgical songs, Jewish world music, and English language sonds with Jewish themes.

Shir Appeal is proud to be the first non-secular and only Jewish group featured on the prestigious Voices Only and Best of Collegiate A Cappella (BOCA) compilation albums, and to be featured on every Best of Jewish A Cappella (BOJAC) album to date.

We are providing this special event at no cost to the Beth Or Community as well as your family and friends.  Since capacity in the sanctuary is limited, we will require that you RSVP no later than Wednesday, January 6th.

Reservations will be on a first come/first serve basis.  Therefore, please make your plans to attend as soon as possible as we will be opening this event to the general public on January 7th.

Please respond directly to the Temple email,
bethortemple@aol.com or phone 305-235-1419.

Light refreshments and the opportunity to meet the group will take place afterwards.

Beth Or's  ORGANIC  GARDEN
...continues to grow!
gardening-items.jpg

Beth Or's  ORGANIC  GARDEN needs green thumbs!

Let's put the 'Or' in 'Organic"

Just a few committed diggers/planters/harvesters energize our Garden areas  - you have the infrastructure.  Cultivate your own plot at Beth Or and'ro help our next communal crop of bananas, papayas, other edibles, herbs and medicinals.

Over 20 years ago Beth Orians wer Shomrei Adamah, Guardians of the Earth -- Keepers of the Garden of Eden, aspiring to the highest standards of earth ethics.  We can and will carefully select the veggies and herbs to maximize output, with proven techniques such as companion planting, insect control, etc.  With today's high prices, a garden is economically desirable.  Plus, it is a part of a healthy lifestyle, providing hands-on education and a social communal experience.

Kavanah~ Rabbi Mark:  "...to help build up our people, our institutions and our strength so that we continue to l'takein olam b'malchut Shaddai, 'repair the world under the kingdom of heaven.'  Let's get our hands deliciously "dirty" in this endeavor as we grow and sustain our beloved community."
