Shabbat Shalom

shabbat shalom

It's come to our attention that many of our Shabbat service regular attendees plan to be out of town for the Thanksgiving weekend.

Please join your families and friends, light your candles and break your challah at home this week, November 27....

...and our regular schedule of services will resume Friday evening, December 4, when we'll welcome Hanukkah and Shabbat all at one time!

Good Shabbos this Friday and Saturday, and we'll see you next week.

Elvis Has Apparently
Not Left the Building

For those who missed him, Chris MacDonald is an Elvis impersonator extraordinaire.   Rose Spector has kindly gathered information for anyone interested in going to the Chris MacDonald concert at the Aventura Cultural Center on April 16th.  Check him out at  chrismacdonaldelvis.com

Here are the details:

If we have a group of 10 or more who commit to going, the cost would be $47.50 per ticket.  If we don't have enough people, the tickets are $50.00 plus 18% tax if we purchase them before November 17th.  After that date, it is $55 plus the 18% tax.

The group sales manager said that we should make our reservations ASAP as it is a very small theater so please emphasize that people need to at least let Rose know if they want to go by Monday so that she can call and let the theater know.  We will not need to pay until a later date but we need to reserve the seats.

Rose Spector will be the contact person for this event, so please email her immediately if you're interested, at:
rosespector2008@gmail.com

sharing_knowledge_graphic.jpg Adult Education

The December Adult Education class will be on Wednesday, December 16th.

The topic is Jewish salvation and the difference between Christian and Jewish salvation.  So, if you want to know how to be "saved", come and hear what our Rabbi says.

Beth Or's  ORGANIC  GARDEN
...continues to grow!
gardening-items.jpg

Beth Or's  ORGANIC  GARDEN needs green thumbs!

Let's put the 'Or' in 'Organic"

Just a few committed diggers/planters/harvesters energize our Garden areas  - you have the infrastructure.  Cultivate your own plot at Beth Or and'ro help our next communal crop of bananas, papayas, other edibles, herbs and medicinals.

Over 20 years ago Beth Orians wer Shomrei Adamah, Guardians of the Earth -- Keepers of the Garden of Eden, aspiring to the highest standards of earth ethics.  We can and will carefully select the veggies and herbs to maximize output, with proven techniques such as companion planting, insect control, etc.  With today's high prices, a garden is economically desirable.  Plus, it is a part of a healthy lifestyle, providing hands-on education and a social communal experience.

Kavanah~ Rabbi Mark:  "...to help build up our people, our institutions and our strength so that we continue to l'takein olam b'malchut Shaddai, 'repair the world under the kingdom of heaven.'  Let's get our hands deliciously "dirty" in this endeavor as we grow and sustain our beloved community."
