Volunteer News

January 2017
Last year, volunteers just like you made great things possible along the San Joaquin River Parkway. More than 10,000 children were able to visit the San Joaquin River thanks in part to the support of our Education Docent Team. The River Center was open for public enjoyment thanks to our dedicated River Center Docents. River Stewards volunteers helped plant thousands of native plants at Spano River Ranch. Thank you for the gift of your time.

Volunteers are at the heart of every River Parkway Trust program area. Your generous donation of time improves the quality of life in our community. There are a variety of ways for you to become a volunteer with the River Parkway Trust this year.

Read on below for upcoming volunteer workdays and orientations. Or visit our Volunteer webpage to fill out the online interest form. Please contact me at sparkes@riverparkway.org or 559-248-8480 ext. 107 if you have any questions about volunteering with the River Parkway Trust.

We look forward to seeing you soon out on the San Joaquin River Parkway.

Sincerely,

Sarah Parkes, Director of Annual Giving

Come help us get ready for a wonderful springtime bloom.
Third Annual Gardening Angels Rose Pruning Party

Hone your rose pruning skills and help keep the beautiful River Center heritage rose garden blooming well. If you are a master gardener, earn extended education credits.

Bring gloves and clippers if you have them. The day will be led by Master Gardener Michael Harmon.

This is a great opportunity to volunteer to help make the River Center grounds beautiful and learn techniques of winter rose pruning.

Morning coffee and goodies, and a soup, salad and dessert lunch at noonish will be provided. Please RSVP so we know how many to plan for.
