Join us Thursday evening for the first event in the 2013 season of Respite by the River. This event will feature 160 student performers from the McLane High School Visual Arts Academy. Throughout the evening you'll have a chance to view nearly 100 pieces of student art currently hanging in the Ranch House. This exhibit will be on display through May 31. You can bid on your favorite piece through silent auction. All art proceeds benefit the McLane Art Academy. The event will also feature student music and dance performances, a chalk art installation, live painting demonstration, and a special theatrical performance featuring the creatures of the "San Joaquin Bestiary" inspired by local writer/poet Tim Z. Hernandez.
We will be serving appetizers and beverages beginning at 6:30pm. Donations will be accepted. Please feel free to bring your picnic dinner and lawn chairs and blankets. Some seating will be available. No alcohol is allowed at this event.
We are thrilled to partner with McLane to help showcase the inspired work of these students. Please join us in supporting their hard work and dedication by attending this very special event.
