Rhode Islanders honored at Foundation's annual meeting
Last evening, the Rhode Island Foundation celebrated its annual meeting with more than 700 donors, community leaders, grantees, and other partners. Chairman Fred Butler and CEO Neil Steinberg reflected on the transformative year of 2012 and honored several Rhode Islanders who have shown tremendous leadership and dedication to improving our state and the quality of life for others through their philanthropy and community engagement. And numerous Rhode Islanders gave their positive views on our state in the closing video. |

Soloveitzik Professional Leadership Award, established for the beloved Westerly attorney who exhibited an enduring commitment to philanthropy throughout his career. Max was recognized "as a 'servant leader' for his keen ability to listen carefully, learn from what he has heard, and then move his cause forward." |

The Foundation also awarded the Community Leadership Award to the Learning Community and Co-Founders/Directors Meg O'Leary and Sarah Friedman, recognizing their "creative approaches to collaboration, commitment to putting teachers and professional development at the heart of change, and a vision to create opportunities for all children in Rhode Island."
