UPS Batteries
The uninterruptible power supply (UPS) and UPS batteries are just part of the infrastructure that make up a backup power system. Check out this video that gives a general overview of the equipment in a data center.
School's Back in Session - now the real test
Now that it's September and children around the country are back in school, the word 'test' is commonplace. Tests are used to check and reveal what we really know - and what we don't really know. So what about in the workplace? Can a test and it's results give us a reality check for what we really do and don't understand?

The world of IT is so broad these days that critical backup power can sometimes get lost in the shuffle. Understanding some basics about the backup power system in your work environment can really go a long way.

Answer these questions to test your knowledge of a critical power system:
  • What kVA does your UPS have?
  • How long is your run-time?
  • What does the battery date code mean?
  • What brand of UPS do you have?
  • Do you know what a roll-over test is?
Besides understanding the above items, you might also want to consider:
  • Does your firm have UPS maintenance services?
  • Do you know what is included in the UPS service coverage?
  • Do you have the phone number for your service provider?
  • How long does it take to get service?

  • Is the partner reliable and do they provide detailed system reports?

By understanding the answers to these questions, you can better manage your backup power system. As power outages, surges, and spikes can all wreak havoc on a business, it's important to have an effective system in place. Titan Power offers preventative maintenance services that ensure your UPS and its batteries are reliable and in good working condition. We can help answer these questions if you are unsure.
