How I love to tell the story.

Friends tell each other stories all the time - of God working in their lives, of inspiring people we have known, the history of the blessed community we are part of.

The QuakerSpeak video series is a new way for us to tell our story to Friends and to seekers everywhere.

I keep hearing about meetings and churches that are using these videos as part of their religious education program for young people and adults - a fresh way to spark an ongoing conversation among Friends about all kinds of things that matter to us.

I am delighted to partner with Friends Journal to bring the work of the Friends World Committee to new audiences and in new ways. This year,
we co-sponsored three new videos that illuminate our mission:

Why I worship with other kinds of Friends

What's the difference between "programmed" and "unprogrammed" worship?

Why traveling ministry is vital for Quakers in the 21st century

Travel in the Ministry Is Vital For Quakers in the 21st Century

Have you ever felt like your Quaker meeting was falling into a rut? Like you needed something fresh, something to get you talking to each other and sharing your faith more deeply?

Do you wonder what holds the Religious Society of Friends together, over time and across vast distances?

Traveling ministers are the traditional answer and the key to thriving faith communities today.  This week's QuakerSpeak video explores the transformative power of travelling ministry in our spiritual lives, in our own meetings, and across the branches of Friends.

Every November in the United States, we set aside a special day to come together with loved ones and give thanks for all the ways we are fortunate. Often, the next day is marked by a frenzy of consumer activity.

#GivingTuesday started a few years ago as a counterbalance to Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Join us this year in supporting the mission of FWCC as we plan for the World Plenary Meeting, enacting our 2015 Strategic Plan, and responding to our callings in this bright future.

This year, Giving Tuesday takes place on December 1, 2015. But you don't have to wait until then! Click here to make a donation to FWCC.
