Annual Spring Trip: Netherlands and France

Over spring break, landscape architecture students accompanied Professor Max Conrad on a field trip to Paris, Versailles, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and Delft to see the best of the best in landscape architecture, architecture, and art. Students who attend the annual spring trip (LA 4501) earn three hours of course credit. The Robert Reich School of Landscape Architecture is highly regarded for these trips, and alumni frequently recall the trips as some of their most valuable experiences at LSU.

Our Day with Clay! Lab School Kindergarten Class Visits Ceramics

Earlier in April, kindergarten students from the University Lab School - including Dean Tsolakis's son Max! - visited the ceramics unit at the LSU School of Art. The field trip began with a fun marionette performance by ceramics students. Later, Associate Professor Mikey Walsh led the kindergarten class on a tour of the ceramics facilities at LSU, and Assistant Professor Andy Shaw gave a brief wheel-throwing demonstration. The children got their own hands dirty when graduate student Jenny Hager guided them through a hands-on, coil-building, bowl-making exercise. View a video of the marionette performance here.
