Third Quarter MLS billing was sent by email on June 3 from billing@spaar.com. If you do not see the notice in your Inbox, please check your SPAM and Junk folders so you do not miss out on this important information. As a reminder, payment must be received on or before June 30 to avoid suspension of MLS access. If not paid on or before June 30, you will incur a $25 reinstatement fee. SPAAR Diversity Committee Sponsors Pride Night at the Saints Game

SPAAR's Diversity Committee sponsored Pride Night at the Saints on June 24, in partnership with the Saint Paul Saints and Twin Cities Pride. The Committee greeted baseball fans with rainbow flags. Proud to be part of this fun event!

 
 

New Forms Available August 1st

The MN REALTORS® Forms Committee held their last meeting for FY2016. During the course of the year, the Committee made several substantial changes to several forms. Detailed information regarding these important changes will be released soon. The most notable changes are to the Purchase Agreement, Addendum to Purchase Agreement: Inspection Contingency and the Sale of Buyer’s Property Contingency.

Following is a list of the forms that will be changing effective August 1:

  • Addendum to Purchase Agreement: Buyer Purchasing “As Is” and Limitation of Seller Liability
  • Addendum to Purchase Agreement: Conventional or Privately Insured Conventional Mortgage Financing

June is License Renewal Month: Review Your CE Transcript

All licenses are on a two-year renewal cycle. All agents are required to complete at least 15 hours of approved Continuing Education every year, for a total of 30 in each renewal cycle. The 2015 - 2016 module requirement is "Fair Housing, Agency, and Legal Update.”

The deadline for continuing education credits is June 30, 2016 (Agents should check with their broker as their deadline could be earlier). Make sure you have met all your requirements by visiting www.pulseportal.com and following the INSTRUCTIONS TO VIEW YOUR CE TRANSCRIPT. Note: In order to receive an email notification in the case of license suspension, please make sure that your email address is current with the MN Department of Commerce.

SPAAR Accepting Nominations for Board of Directors

Consider being on the Board of Directors for the Saint Paul Area Association of REALTORS®. The 2016 Nominating Committee is looking to fill three director positions. This position has a three-year term and directors are asked to make attending all Board meetings a priority. SPAAR is also accepting applications for three officer positions: treasurer, president-elect, and president.

How will I benefit? As a Board Member you’ll have:

  • Opportunities to both learn from and teach others
  • Direct involvement in decisions that affect the association
  • A broader professional network of members, the community and civic leaders
  • New experiences that develop professional and personal skills
  • Social opportunities that often lead to lasting friendships

Have You Completed the Quadrennial Period Code of Ethics Training?

The mandated four-year cycle to meet the Code of Ethics Training for The National Association of REALTORS® membership requirement ends December 31, 2016. If you do not have the NAR Code of Ethics completed by December 31, 2016 your membership will be suspended per the NAR bylaws. If your name is not on the LIST (Updated 6/17/16) then you need to complete the NAR Code of Ethics. If you have taken an approved NAR Code of Ethics training class please be sure to submit proof of completion to SPAAR at spaar@spaar.com.
