Starter Kit

Ever since we started growing vegetables for our CSA we have been thinking about ways to keep some greens coming during the winter months.  When we took inventory at the end of the year we realized that if we started on a small scale we had all the components necessary to start growing indoors.  Leftover organic potting soil from last spring's plant starts, a germination heating pad, a hodgepodge of unused seeds, daylight balanced grow lights, and plenty of food grade recyclable growing containers, (gallon jugs used for blueberry harvest) were all unused assets until this week.  We started with some cilantro and green onions and will continue on with a selection of herbs and lettuce.  We also anticipate indoor Oyster mushroom production to compliment our Shiitakes.

2016 CSA

The 2016 USDA Certified Organic weekly shares will be approximately one half bushel in size. This volume is roughly equal to a full paper grocery bag.  Distributions will be on Saturdays.

We offer two options:
FULL season memberships will consist of eighteen weekly distributions beginning on Saturday, June 18th. with the final distribution on Saturday, October 15th.

CORE season memberships will consist of ten weekly distributions beginning on Saturday, July 16th, with the final distribution on Saturday, September 17th.

The cost of the full season membership is $600.00
The cost of the core season membership is $350.00

The number of memberships is limited. We are now accepting a 10% deposit ensuring a space is reserved for your choice of membership options. Past members, and everyone on our waiting list, will be guaranteed a 2016 membership as long as a deposit, or full payment is made between now, and the end of January.  After January we will open any remaining memberships to the public.

Any member wishing to pay in full during January will receive a 10% discount.  Full payment made in February will be discounted 5%. In keeping with the original concept of CSA's, this provides meaningful savings to members while aiding the farm with early expenses for advance orders of organic seed and fertilizer, propagation, and planting.

Full payment for the full season share will be due on or before May 1st.
Full payment for the core season share will be due on or before June 1st.

We anticipate using the same drop sites as last season.  Competitive Gear Bicycle Shop in Millcreek, and  the Whole Foods Co-Op in Erie.  We are looking into the possibility of adding others in the east and south county.

We are continuing our home delivery option.  Final details for the delivery program, and CSA sign up forms will be made available in future newsletters.  For now, sign up forms are available at the farm, or will be mailed upon request.  Past members with no change in contact information can simply let us know you wish to sign up.  We can complete the form for you using the information in our records.

We are very much looking forward to serving our 2016 CSA members! Please feel free to contact us with any questions.

Citrus Salsa Release

Eric's seasonal winter salsa "Citrus" is now available! Clementines, pineapples and limes with serrano heat. Out of all his seasonal salsas this flavor probably gets the least amount of exposure due to the time of year it's released, but his most complex recipe results in a true winter delicacy!
