Progress
In the 4-23-2015 newsletter we showed a blueberry shoot with flower buds at the "Bud Swell" stage of development. Now, two weeks later they are at the "Tight Cluster" stage. Individual flower tips are now distinguishable. Our estimate two weeks ago of being one week, to ten days behind seasonal averages for the bloom seems accurate. We normally see the first open flowers about the first of May. From this point it will still be two or three days before the first few flowers open.

Sole Survivor
The mother goose pictured on her nest in the 4-23-2015 newsletter was only partially successful. This single gosling is the only survivor from her clutch of eggs. We found pieces of the other egg shells strewn about by an unidentified predator.
