With the new calendar year only a few days away we are placing orders for the seeds and supplies we will begin to use in just a couple of months. We want to be sure to receive the varieties of our choice and be ready to start some plants indoors. Jumpstarting the season with grow lights and heated propagation beds provides an early harvest and compensates for our relatively short growing season for some types of vegetables.

Multinational food corporations never stop trying to keep consumers in the dark as to the true contents of the products they sell. Not disclosing GMO contents on food packages is an ongoing priority. They know if consumers are informed truthfully they will find healthy, local alternatives for their food dollars. Since some states are beginning to vote for mandatory disclosure of GMO contents these corporations and their trade organizations are attempting to have GMO ingredients listed on food packages as "natural".
