Line IQ

Fault Detection and Far Beyond

Fault current indicators usually show a flag or a light when a fault is detected. An 'advanced' unit may even provide fault phase and magnitude with a waveform and communications back to SCADA.

With over 15 years of experience, the LineIQ intelligent monitoring system makes such simple line fault indicators obsolete. Today, utilities around the world must detect, correct and restore power to customers immediately, as our lifestyles, and sometimes our lives, depend on it. LineIQ allows you to remotely monitor network lines up to 138kV, quickly determine fault location and cause, and quickly restore power even as you prevent future outages.

LineIQ deploys on your network in minutes, immediately providing data to substantially improve network reliability. Sophisticated firmware lets you purchase LineIQ for basic fault detection, or upgrade to its advanced monitoring functionality. Satisfy immediate needs today, while knowing you're prepared for more advanced line monitoring when necessary.

At the system's heart is an innovative, self-powered sensor easily installed on energized lines - a sensor that uniquely records and logs ambient and conductor temperature. The self-powered sensor enables continuous capture of critical performance data, including:

  • True voltage measurement with external sensor
  • Line status and condition
  • Fault direction
  • Fault waveform
  • Load profile
  • Ambient and conductor temperature
  • Time-stamped event recordings

Armed with this data, you can increase network reliability, improve efficiency of power delivery, minimize or defer capital expenditures and, optimize asset utilization.
