News from Credentials Solutions
|
Dear Friends of Credentials,
It is my pleasure to introduce you to Credentials' first newsletter - "Credentials Chronicles." In our earlier days, I used to write an annual "year in review" for our clients that combined some discussion of our progress as a company, insights into industry topics as well as some hints about new services and enhancements coming down the pike. As the company grew and grew, my annual updates kind of fell by the wayside. As 2013 continues to get busier, we recognize the need to keep you, our client institutions, informed and up to date on happenings at Credentials Solutions.
In addition to news about the company, we will be letting you know where Credentials will be attending upcoming industry conferences. Terry Reed will be passing along "Tidbits" regarding recent service enhancements as well as some "best practices" in place at some of the schools we are working with. We will also include insights from Jeff Geldermann, Jack Weber, Kevin Klemke and myself on current trends and developments within the industry. We hope you find these columns interesting and occasionally provocative.
We anticipate that 2013 will be another exciting year for Credentials Solutions. As always, we want to thank you for the opportunity to serve you. We hope you enjoy "Credentials Illustrated" and look forward to exceeding your expectations.
Sincerely,
Tom McKechney

Commitment to Open Exchange of Electronic Student Records
The recent announcement that the SPEEDE Server will be transferred from the University of Texas at Austin to the National Student Clearinghouse has introduced uncertainty into what had been a stable
and predictable external environment. While we agree with the University's decision to transfer the operations and development of the Server, we are deeply concerned with their choice of National Student Clearinghouse as the future operator. Our reason for concern is obvious.

 Terry's Tidbits
Here are some best practices for marketing TranscriptsPlus to your students and educating them on the new transcript service your school is using to save them time:
- Use the marketing materials provided to you by Credentials, including banners, counter signs and business cards
- Eliminate the PDF form on your website and discontinue use of paper forms
- Promote the service on your school's social media platforms
- Utilize any digital signs or TV monitors around campus to help familiarize your students with TranscriptsPlus.
