Dear Dixie Alumni,
The month of May means graduation at Dixie State University. We are excited that 1,897 degrees have been earned and will be awarded on Friday, May 8th at the 104th Annual Commencement Exercises at 11:00 a.m. in the Burns Arena. Lt. Gov. Spencer J. Cox will be the featured speaker.
This year's graduates will join a distinguished group of Alumni around the world as they are officially recognized as part of the DSU Alumni Association. We are excited to see the paths these grads will be taking. As they move on to the future and the present and past intertwine, we hope they will find the Red Sand of Dixie forever on their minds.

100th Anniversary of the Block D
|
We celebrated the 100th year anniversary of the Block D that rests on the ridge of the black hill overlooking St. George. This took place during the annual D-Week which is packed full of rich traditions and events many cherish. From the Great Race to Whitewashing, there were hundreds of people having an awesome time. Below is a video recapping the 100th year of the whitewashing tradition.
We had the honor of having President Richard "Biff" Williams and his family, St. George City Mayor Jon Pike, Alumni and Friends at the centennial whitewashing. Also in attendance was Edna Rae Gardner Frei and Rexine Gardner Rowley, two sisters who's parents were in the original photo of the block D 100 years ago. This photo was on the cover of the most recent issue of the Dixie State University Alumni Magazine. Edna Rae turned 93 years old on April 18th and made the trek up the hillside to be a part of the centennial year photo, marking a historic moment for her family.
Thank you to everyone who joined us throughout all the D-week events. We had over 12,000+ people to these many events.

DSU Softball | ST. GEORGE, Utah - The Dixie State softball team swept Holy Names at home on Saturday afternoon, capping the best league record in Pacific West Conference at 31-1. For the third straight season, Dixie State softball has been selected to host one of two NCAA West Regionals and will face Saint Martin's during Thursday's (May 7) opening round.
