Dear Dixie Alumni,

We are excited to share with you news about the Centennial Celebration of the D on the hillside which will take place April 13-18, 2015.  This landmark came about when the students of the Dixie Academy embraced the ideal of leaving something for Dixie to remember them by.  In 1915 they decided to leave a "D" on the side of the black hill.  This historical "D" not only serves as a marker for this valley, but has become a long standing tradition where students and alumni whitewash it twice a year and celebrate Dixie.  The D Day schedule of planned events are included in this newsletter.

Another exciting piece of news is that Spencer Cox, Lieutenant Governor, will be the keynote speaker for our 104th Commencement Ceremonies on May 8th.  We look forward to having him on campus as we celebrate the accomplishments of the Class of 2015 and welcome the graduates into the Alumni Association.

There is still time to attend some great athletic events being played by the DSU student athletes.  Be part of the action and GO DIXIE!

Enjoy the month,

Kalynn, Chet, Tammie, Margaret and Hal
