Dear Dixie Alumni,

Holiday greetings to you and your family!

Dixie State University's new President, Dr. Richard "Biff" Williams, is desirous to have a strategic plan in place that will guide the University for the next 10 years. After the bidding process was completed, Penson Associates Inc. was selected. They are a research and consultant firm that has a lot of experience in strategic planning and a cadre of consultants whose experience and knowledge are impressive.

Alumni and Friends are invited and encouraged to be involved in the strategic planning process. We want your input and it is very critical to the success of DSU. The first meeting will be Thursday, December 4th, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Zion Room on the 5th floor of the Holland Building. Please help us spread the word and invite your friends, community leaders, and other associates. We hope you can attend. (Click here for the most current updates on the strategic planning process)

Zumba Night | Needs Based Scholarships

December 5th 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the Student Activity Center (Old Gym) the DSU Student Alumni is holding a Zumba Night Fundraiser to raise money for Need's Based Scholarships! $3 w/Alumni or Student ID Card ($5 without) Bring your family and friends for a fun time!

Cultural Happenings | William Joseph

Celebrity Concert Series presents William Joseph, performing with DSU Symphony Orchestra on Friday, December 12 & Saturday, December 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the Cox Performing Arts Center.

Tickets are $20 and can be ordered online at dsutix.com or by calling the Ticket Box Office at 435-652-7800.

Regional Champions Women's Volleyball

The No. 8 seed Dixie State (22-9) took down the No. 1 and 5 seeds to get to the finals and just missed running the table to earn a spot as a regional champion at the NCAA Division II Volleyball Championships. Dixie State improved on last season's mark on just making the postseason to winning two matches in dramatic fashion and putting together a banner year for the program.

"It was a 'Cinderella' season for sure. What a year! Not the ending we wanted but one heck of a postseason," head coach Robyn Felder said. "I am so proud of their efforts. They fought like champions and I can't say enough about what a phenomenal group of athletes they are." (read more)
