DIXIE STATE UNIVERSITY ALUMNI
NEWS FROM THE RED SANDS OF DIXIE                                     MAY 2014
Dear Dixie Alumni,

Congratulations to our recent Dixie State University Graduates! What a talented and impressive group of students. The class of 2014 set a new record with 1896 graduates. They are well prepared to begin a new chapter in their lives as they spread the Dixie Spirit throughout the world.

President Stephen D. Nadauld announced at graduation that "this will most likely be my final official public act as president of Dixie State University. Margaret and I will forever cherish this experience with all our hearts...What a great ride we've had."  We would like to thank him and his wife for the outstanding job they have done at the University during the past six years. They will be connected to Dixie forever.

We hope you enjoy reading the latest news from our monthly Dixie newsletters and learning about upcoming events while staying connected. We would love to hear from you about your achievements and successes.

Sincerely,

Dixie State Alumni Relations

Kalynn, Chet, & Hal

D-Week Recap
D-Week was a great success! We hope you enjoyed all the fun! The Great Race was well attended as many teams participated in this Dixie Tradition.
White Washing the "D" on the black hill is one of the favorite traditions
we do every D-Week. Next year marks the 100th anniversary of the "D" and we are hard at work to make it a memorable year!

A large group of students showed up to participate this year and the Alumni Board cooked an amazing breakfast for everyone to enjoy!  You are invited to join us next year as the white washing tradition will take place during D-Week 2015!

Evening of Dixie 2014

This year's Evening of Dixie was notable. The Alumni Association enjoyed honoring those who have given so much back to Dixie! We also had the privilege of being entertained by our 2014 D-Week Queen, Jill Wulfenstein, and Raging Red.

The following individuals were honored and received the awards as listed below:

  • Ken Jolley - Rebel Award
  • Randy Wilkinson - Dixie Community Award
  • Ron & Susan Garner - Dixie Spirit Award
  • John Blake - Roene DiFiore Big "D" Award
