Dixie State University Tabs Dr. William J. Christensen as New Executive Vice President and VP of Academics |
Dixie State University announced Monday the appointment of Dr. William J. Christensen as the institution's new Executive Vice President and Vice President of Academic Services. Dr. Christensen, who currently serves as dean of the DSU Udvar-Hazy School of Business and School of Communication, will officially begin his new position on Monday, July 1.
"I'm convinced Bill will do a great job of helping us digest our recent rapid development of academic programs and will provide effective and insightful leadership as we expand into a first rate regional university," said DSU President Dr. Stephen D. Nadauld.
Christensen, who was appointed as dean of the DSU Udvar-Hazy School of Business in 2008, has served as a business professor since 2001, having taught courses in operations management, strategic management, purchasing & supply management, and statistics. He received his Ph.D. in Business Administration from Oklahoma State University in 2000. He also holds a Bachelor's degree in East Asian Studies and a Master's degree in Management Science from California State University, Hayward. Read More |
Dixie State University Appoints New Dean of Science and Technology |
Dixie State University announced Wednesday the appointment of Dr. Eric Pedersen as the new Dean of Science and Technology. Dr. Pedersen will assume his new role on Monday, July 1, replacing the retiring Dr. Victor Hasfurther, who had served in that capacity for the past five years. Pedersen has served as a faculty member at Dixie State since 1989, and is currently a professor of visual technologies and information technology. He also teaches e-commerce, web development and tech entrepreneurship at DSU, in addition to creating a bi-monthly Technology and Entrepreneurship lecture series. Pedersen has also held numerous leadership roles on campus as he was director of the institution's business and development resource center from 1989-94, director of the center of excellence for computer graphics, and served as dean of continuing education at Dixie from 1994-97.
