Anyone who is in the field of photography knows that when you break out a camera, special requests for pictures will be made. Some young people downright lose their minds in hopes of getting their 15 minutes of fame. But oftentimes the photographer is going for the candid shot, so these posed photos unfortunately never get published.
In light of the holidays, and because school is closed until Monday, Jan. 7, we thought we would end off the year by putting out a very special eMule featuring a dozen of our favorite outtakes from our school community. After all, the students are what we are here for, and no matter how caught up we get in our day-to-day job responsibilities, these smiling faces are what keep us motivated.
Our mission statement is "Achieving excellence through learning: Every child, every hour, every day." It can be seen prominently painted on the wall in the Central Office, and chairman Steve Sells makes a point to read the motto at the beginning of every school board meeting. The Poplar Bluff R-I staff vows to never lose sight of our purpose: to help prepare the next generation of community leaders. Here's a small sampling.
Enjoy!
