UBCM Responds to Proposed Revisions to Federal ATR Policy 

 

UBCM has submitted its response to the federal government on the proposed revisions to the Policy on Additions to Reserve and Reserve Creation (ATR policy). UBCM's submission is reflective of solicited member feedback, UBCM policy, and internal analysis, and emphasizes the need for early and ongoing local government engagement during the ATR process. Province Wide Levy on Wireless Services 

 

UBCM is looking to obtain further input from local governments on the introduction of a uniform province wide Call Answer Levy (CAL) on wireless services to support and improve 911 services in British Columbia. Integrated Pest Management Regulation 

 

The Ministry of Environment is inviting comments on proposed amendments to the Integrated Pest Management Regulation (IPMR). Designed to ensure that most pesticides used in landscaped areas be applied by trained people, the updated regulation will also change the way domestic class pesticides are sold and will update the list of excluded pesticides. Social Housing & Food Security - A full day symposium 

 

BC's Non-Profit Housing Association's Annual Conference is taking place from Nov.18 - 20. This year there is a special focus on food security and social housing, looking at creative ways to ensure access to healthy food for low-income residents.
