One of the priorities for UBCM's Executive this year was to increase engagement with the four largest political parties during the 2013 Provincial Election. The UBCM Executive met in Richmond April 24 - 25 for Committee and Executive meetings. Highlights included an update on the UBCM election platform; an initial review of the UBCM member survey results, in which 94% of respondents noted that UBCM's work is "very important" or "important"; and, an update on member engagement being done by the Select Committee on Local Government Finance.  Read More

The 2013 Benefits Conference - "Risky Business!-Emerging Issues Employers Should be Aware Of" was a great success, with an overall evaluation rating of 4.5 out of 5. The event inspired 75 local government staff responsible for group benefit plans with new ideas and opportunities.
