Welcome Class of 2019
Our Annual White Coat Ceremony took place on August 19 at the Michael F. Sorrell Events Center.
Sixty-three students received their professional white laboratory jackets, provided by friends of the College of Pharmacy and the University of Nebraska Foundation, and took the pledge of professionalism.
Dean Courtney Fletcher welcomed the students. Linda Sobeski, Pharm.D., Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice, delivered the keynote presentation on "doing the right thing."
Stephanie Nitz, P4, also shared her reflections as a Pharmacy student.
Charles Krobot, Pharm.D., Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice, and Associate Dean for Student Affairs, Christopher Shaffer, Pharm.D., welcomed the class of 2019 to the Ceremony and assisted with the presentation of the white coats to the students.
The College of Pharmacy Open House followed where the new students and their families and friends were invited to mingle with faculty, students and staff.

Norman Elected to Committee Chair of AACP
Kimberly Norman, education program coordinator in the College of Pharmacy, was elected national chair of the Experiential Education Membership Committee of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) at the AACP's annual meeting this past summer at National Harbor, Md. Norman said she is excited about the opportunity. So is her dean, Courtney Fletcher, Pharm.D. "All of the College of Pharmacy faculty and staff take seriously our commitment to professional and public service," Dr. Fletcher said. "Kimberly's election is evidence of the national leadership the UNMC College of Pharmacy continues to provide and, importantly, a clear illustration that this leadership is not just among our faculty but within the ranks of our staff."
