On Saturday , October 19 at 9 a.m., County Executive Kevin Kamenetz and Catonsville Councilman, Tom Quirk will cut the ribbon for the recently resurfaced 1 milevCatonsville Short Line Trail. We will be recognizing the efforts of our elected officials, donors, volunteers, board members and friends.
WE NEED CYCLIST!!!! CRTT organizers want to have a large group of cyclists ride the 1-mile trail (surface is hard-packed gravel) starting at 8 a.m. and continue through Paradise neighborhoods following the planned path of the Short Line Trail to the new bridge construction over the Beltway at Frederick which will include bike and pedestrian lanes. The culmination is to arrive back at the start at 8:50 as the county officials are gathering;
the goal is to impress them with our numbers! Total length of ride is only 3.7 miles (
http://ridewithgps.com/routes/3360415) and there is one short hill on Belle Grove Rd.. We will stop frequently to keep everyone together.
This is an easy ride and perfect for families and seniors.
Come out and help celebrate this event and show the officials our dedication. Refreshments from 7-Eleven of Catonsville. Plenty of parking in front of the school.
Don't forget that October 19th is also the 2nd Annual Oystober Fest at C'ville Bike/The Hub.

Short Line Trail Gets Bollards!
Many thanks to Sheldon Smith and Link
Mechanical Services for installing bollards on the Short Line trail. Bollards are barriers at the trail entrances to deter vehicles.
In addition to bollards, Sheldon Smith and Steve Byron collaborated on a project to place distance markers every 1/4 mile along the trail. The distance markers are painted green and blue for easy identification.
We just found out last night that CRTT has been awarded a $3,200 grant from the
Catonsville Women's Giving Circle. These funds will be used on the Short Line Trail entrance near the Beltway. Thanks so much!
The CWGC is an organization of 100 women who donate $250/per person and fund $25,000 in worthy Catonsville projects.
