San Diego FTD Conference
UCSD Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, The Southern Caregiver Resource Center and AFTD have co-sponsored a conference on October 19 in San Diego entitled The Diagnosis, Management, and Treatment of FTD. This half-day presentation takes place from
8:30 a.m. - 12:00 noon at the First United Methodist Church at Linder Hall.

New England:
Katie Brandt will host an FTD awareness night at Stonehill College in Easton, MA on October 2 from 7 - 8 p.m. in the MacPhaidin Library. Winona Blake is hosting an evening of food and FTD awareness at Visiting Angels, 14 Hooksett Road Auburn, NH 03032 on Thursday, October 3, 6 - 9 p.m.
On October 7, Margie Gonzalez will team up with Chili's at 828 Bridgeport Ave, Shelton, CT 06484. Chili's will donate 10% to AFTD when presented with this flyer.
South Atlantic:
Amber Dietz and family are hosting a spaghetti dinner and silent auction at Boone County High School, 7056 Burlington Pike, Florence, KY 41042 on October 5, from 5 - 9 p.m. For more information, visit the event page.

Culminating Event at Susanna Foo Gourmet Kitchen in Radnor, PA
On Friday, October 11, AFTD will host the culminating event of Food for Thought week at Susanna Foo Gourmet Kitchen in Radnor, PA. St. Joseph's Men's Basketball Head Coach Phil Martelli is the Honorary Chair. The event starts at 6 p.m. and features specialty food stations, wine and beer, music, silent auction and raffle. Upcoming Events:
Open House Art Sale: Addie Kaplan of Roxborough, PA will host an art sale on Saturday and Sunday, October 5-6 from 12 noon to 6 p.m. Addie's husband, Patrick Ross Arnold, an artist and former professor of art, has a collection of 400 pieces that will be auctioned. Patrick is affected with FTD, and 10% of proceeds from the auction will go to AFTD. The open house will take place at the Kaplan's home: 614 Leverington Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19128.
Shoot 4 Scooter: After three years of hosting "Scoot 4 Scooter," the Scaggs family changes things up a bit this year with a "Shoot 4 Scooter" golf outing on October 20 at Penn National Golf Course in Fayetteville, PA. The shotgun start will be at 8:40 a.m., and registration opens at 7:30 a.m. A dinner and raffle will follow the tournament. For complete details or to register, visit www.scoot4scooter.com.
2nd Annual Bob Hartman Beef & Beer for Frontotemporal Degeneration: The Hartman family will again host a fundraiser to benefit AFTD on November 2 from 8 - 11 p.m. at the Bayview Inn, 8100 Bayview Drive, Wildwood Crest, NJ 08260.
