From Your Worship Pastor
From the very moment I arrived at University United Methodist Church, one thing was quite clear to me: This is a church that practices mercy. One of my all time favorite passages in the Old Testament is Micah 6:8. "He has shown you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God."
Each and every time that I have been a part of this church being given an opportunity to love mercy, I have been deeply blessed by the overwhelming response.
No matter where the need might be; many miles from us in worlds that seem unfamiliar to us or right next door in a school we pass every day and that sits literally in the shadow of our steeple; this church responds. Thank you, Jesus.
We have been given word from our conference leaders that we are drastically low on flood buckets and as you well know; they are needed right now more than ever. This times "the world" is very close to home. God's call on our lives to be a generous people does not take a break during interims, transitions, or spring & summer months. You will never know the difference your generosity can make.
Visit our website for directions for how to prepare a flood bucket or how to make a donation. Bring your flood buckets to church this Sunday, April 24, and next Sunday, May 1 and we will collect them on both sides of the campus. Pray for our brothers and sisters who are experiencing loss and chaos as a result of all the flooding and do your part to help ease the loss in their lives by loving mercy!
Do Justice
Love Mercy
Walk Humbly,
Pastor Laurinda
