Texas DAR Provides Electronic Marquee Sign

A much anticipated event on Friday was the dedication of the new Texas Electronic Marquee Sign.  The sign fits within the existing stonework of the old sign, combining traditional, native building materials and the latest in wireless LED technology.  This sign will not only enhance school involvement among parents and guardians of KDS students, but it will also increase community awareness of the various events which take place on this campus.

 Ohio DAR Bus Tour

In September, it was a real pleasure to welcome the Ohio DAR Bus Tour.  Twenty-two Ohio Daughters arrived on Thursday, September 25, for a day on the campus visiting classrooms, having lunch in the lunchroom, and taking a walking tour of the older part of the campus.  Their final campus stop was refreshments in the Family and Consumer Sciences Classroom with Beth Cagle.  Included in the group were the Ohio State Regent Sandy McCann; Nancy Wright, Ohio State 1st Vice Regent; and Tour Director DeVona Garey.

 Middle School Patriots Football Team
Goes Undefeated!!!

The KDS DAR Middle School Football Team just completed a very exciting season, finishing with an undefeated record of 8 - 0.  KDS started their football program in 2005 with a JV and then in 2006 with a full varsity team.  This is quite an accomplishment for a school that has only had a football program for 10 years.  It has been rumored that this is the only team we have in any sport to complete a season going undefeated.
