Needing a win to clinch its first playoff appearance in the history of the team, the Patriots rose to the occasion Friday night against Ardmore High School, beating the Tigers 24-0 at Cooper Field in Ardmore, Alabama. It was a historic night celebrated by the team, coaches, students and community.

The Patriots (4-5) will travel to Brooks High School (7-2) in Killen, Alabama for a first round playoff game on Friday, November 9th at 7:00 p.m.

Let's all go out and support the Patriots in this history making game!

The Future is Bright for AP at KDS High School
AP Program

Four years ago KDS High School began offering Advanced Placement (AP) courses to its students as a means of offering more challenging courses to those students planning to attend college.  Through the A+ College Ready Grant Program, KDS is able to provide incentives to students making qualifying scores and pays for teacher training, equipment and AP testing each spring.  Ninety-six students are currently enrolled in one or more AP courses, which are college level rigor.

If you have a "Did You Know?" article about KDS School, the Grant community, or the state of Alabama that you would like to share with readers of our monthly newsletter, submit it  to Heather Green at hgreen@nehp.net.  If you have pictures in a digital format that relate to the article, submit them along with the article.  Many of our readers are new to the area and do not know the wonderful, rich history of KDS School and the Town of Grant.  I am sure they will be enlightened with something that you know and take for granted that everyone else knows too.

Prior to Dedication Day eleven students who attend the KDS Extended Day after school program, along with KDS Elementary teacher Amber McCallie, volunteered to clean up around campus and spent the afternoon enjoying the fall sunshine while doing what they could to make things look nice for visitors. They were surprised the next day with snow cones as a reward.
