Greetings from Scottsdale!
What do alarm clocks and Lenny have in common?
Both of them are reminders. Alarm clocks remind you to get up in the morning. Lenny reminds you to SHED. Thanks for sharing with us how shedding is working for you. We love hearing all your great ideas! Here are four amazing shedding reminders that our clients (Mayo Clinic, Shell Oil and Norton Healthcare) are using. How can we help you SHED? 1. Take a "Pledge to SHED" for your personal AND professional life. Making a public pledge will enhance accountability and results. I boarded a plane at LAX and was reading the USA Today while the other passengers boarded. A women rolling her luggage behind her passed by my aisle. She snapped her fingers and declares, "I don't remember your name Lizard Lady, but how's Lenny? It's been two years since I saw you speak and I've been shedding. I've shed my job, my husband, and my negative friends!" 2. Keep a Lenny visible to remind yourself to SHED every day. Below is a picture we recently received from Shell Oil. It had been over seven years since I spoke there and the guy still has his Lenny on his computer to remind him to shed every day. Another lady had her Lenny in her car for eight years. She recently contacted us in a panic requesting we send her another one ASAP because she had sold her car and forgot to take her Lenny off of the dashboard. Lenny was her mantra every day on the drive to work to remind her to SHED. 3. Know your SHED Style so you can adapt and be 75% more effective. Norton Healthcare System has been incorporating shedding into their culture the past year. Everyone knows their SHED Style (Stabilizer, Hedger, Energizer, Driver) and they encourage each other with team accountability. Here is a picture of one of their work areas in the lab. 4. Make a SHED Box. Mayo Clinic created this brilliant idea that is always visible in their work area. They end every staff meeting asking everyone "What are you going to SHED?" Shedding isn't a onetime occurrence, it's a way of life. Shedding is 100% your choice! Shed or You're DeadŽ
