Judges of election are paid for their service. For complete information on applying to be a judge of election, please click here. Street Sweeping Begins April 1st
The schedule for 2015 street sweeping has been released by the Dept. of Streets and Sanitation through the middle of May. Through May 15th, sweeping will continue under the old ward boundary schedule. Once the new council takes office in May, the street sweeping sections and schedule will switch to the new boundaries. We have updated our interactive street sweeping map at chicago47.org through May 15th. Sweeping begins April 1st so be on the lookout for 'no parking' signs. Arterial sweeping also begins April 1st and that schedule can be found here. We will update the dates and new ward map schedule once we receive them from the Department of Streets and Sanitation.
LV2 Parking Restrictions
The first night game at Wrigley Field will be on April 5, 2015. Passes have been mailed out to those of you who have vehicles already registered in the LV2 area. The map of the LV2 parking area can be found on our website.
You can come into our office any time during normal business hours to pick up your passes once they are available - please note that our office will be closed tomorrow, March 27th. You need to provide proof of residence (photo ID, official mail, lease, etc.) and all of your vehicle registration information to obtain passes. If you're a business in the LV2 zone, please provide a letter at the time of your application on your letterhead detailing the vehicle information for your employees (make/model, license plate, city sticker) and the number of single-use passes you need for the season. If a large number is needed, we can place a special order for you.
If you have any questions about LV2, please contact my office. Complete information on LV2 is available on our website.
2015 Aldermanic Menu Vote
Voting for the 2015 aldermanic menu continues, and you can vote on projects by clicking here. To take a look at the projects before logging on to vote, please click here. Voting will be open until 5pm on Friday, April 3rd. While you and your neighbors are considering which projects to support, the 47th Ward Team is traveling throughout the ward to survey all of our alleys, streets, sidewalks and other public infrastructure. I will use all of this data to finalize the list of projects that will be submitted to the City for this year's menu.
Your input is vitally important as we determine which projects to fund with our limited budget. I hope that you will take the time to vote and please urge your neighbors to do so as well. If you have any questions, please contact my office.
Sincerely,
