Dear Neighbor,
The schedule for 2015 street sweeping has been released by the Dept. of Streets and Sanitation through the middle of May. Through May 15th, sweeping will continue under the old ward boundary schedule. Once the new council takes office in May, the street sweeping sections and schedule will switch to the new boundaries. We have updated our interactive street sweeping map at chicago47.org through May 15th. Sweeping begins April 1st so be on the lookout for 'no parking' signs. Arterial sweeping also begins April 1st and that schedule can be found here. We will update the dates and new ward map schedule once we receive them from the Department of Streets and Sanitation.
LV2 Parking Restrictions
The first night game at Wrigley Field will be on April 5, 2015. With the baseball season fast approaching, it will soon be time for residents living in the LV2 parking zone to obtain their parking passes. Passes should be mailed out soon to those of you who have vehicles already registered in the LV2 area. We also anticipate having them here in the ward office in the next week. My office will be sending out a separate email notifying you once the passes are available. The map of the LV2 parking area can be found on our website.
You can come into our office any time during normal business hours to pick up your passes once they are available. You need to provide proof of residence (photo ID, official mail, lease, etc.) and all of your vehicle registration information to obtain passes. If you wish to obtain the permanent decal, you must also provide your city sticker number. We will have evening and Saturday hours to distribute passes. We will let you know the specifics on that when we send the notice that passes are available.
If you're a business in the LV2 zone, please provide a letter at the time of your application on your letterhead detailing the vehicle information for your employees (make/model, license plate, city sticker) and the number of single-use passes you need for the season. If a large number is needed, we can place a special order for you.
If you have any questions about LV2, please contact my office. Complete information will be in the email sent out once passes are available.
2015 Aldermanic Menu Vote
Voting for the 2015 aldermanic menu continues, and you can vote on projects by clicking here. To take a look at the projects before logging on to vote, please click here. Voting will be open until 5pm on Friday, April 3rd. While you and your neighbors are considering which projects to support, the 47th Ward Team will be traveling throughout the ward to survey all of our alleys, streets, sidewalks and other public infrastructure. I will use all of this data to finalize the list of projects that will be submitted to the City for this year's menu.
Your input is vitally important as we determine which projects to fund with our limited budget. I hope that you will take the time to vote and please urge your neighbors to do so as well. If you have any questions, please contact my office.
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
|
