Tip of the Month: Shhh...Quiet, please!

According to our Resident Lifestyle Preferences Study, quietness emerged as a highly preferred aspect of apartment living. What's the solution for creating a  quiet environment?

"Sufficient and better insulation between floors and walls of each unit," expressed some residents.

Statistic of the Month: Health & Fitness

According to our Resident Lifestyle Preferences Study, working out atleast three times a week is the most preferred activity of 44 percent residents.

Joseph Batdorf
Dear Friends,

Our groundbreaking study,
Resident Lifestyle Preferences: An Insight in collaboration with Multifamily Executive received an overwhelming response at the annual MFE conference. The study spotlights lifestyle aspects central to the conceptualization and design of an apartment property. From across the nation, 27,642 residents voiced their opinions on topics including homeownership, social life, neighboring store preferences, the environment, health and fitness, pet ownership and much more. You will be happy to know that 25 percent residents are what we call "Renters by Choice" as they prefer to live in an apartment than a home.

As you begin planning for 2015, this study may provide strategic insights into what residents across generations desire on a daily basis. You can download the full report at Research Reports

Additionally, I am thrilled to share that Mindy Price, our Vice President of Sales, was recognized by the Houston Apartment Association in their inaugural 40 Under 40 list for her contribution to the multifamily industry.

Full Report - Resident Lifestyle Preferences: An Insight

The wait is over!

In our previous newsletter we shared an executive summary of the Resident Lifestyle Preferences: An Insight, a pathbreaking study by J Turner Research in partnership with Multifamily Executive. The study sheds light on the lifestyle attitudes, preferences, and behavior of  27,642 residents nationwide. What percentage is eager to buy a house and how many are happy to be Renters by Choice? What is the most preferred green feature to what neighboring stores fall in their wish list? How do they stay fit to how much time do they spend inside their apartments? How often do they cook to do they crave for additional storage space? The survey answers all these questions and many more.

Detailed results of the study were unveiled at the 2014 Multifamily Executive Conference in September. To download the complete report, please visit Research Reports
