Citizen Jane Film Festival Focuses on Women in Cinema
Columbia is quickly becoming known for its festivals, in particular, its film festivals. Each fall the Stephens College campus is abuzz with filmmakers and film lovers during the Citizen Jane Film Festival, which takes place on the weekend of October 4-6. This year's Citizen Jane program spotlights 52 short-length films and 15 feature films and continues to celebrate some of the most daring and accomplished works by women filmmakers.
Citizen Jane kicks off at the beautifully restored Missouri Theatre for the Arts on Friday, Oct. 4.
In order to engage festival goers, organizers craft an unforgettably festive weekend with interactive Q & A panels with filmmakers, in-depth workshops with industry professionals and one-of-a-kind parties and special events. The 2013 Citizen Jane Film Festival kicks off Friday, Oct. 4 at the ornate and beautifully restored Missouri Theatre Center for the Arts in downtown Columbia.
