Key Lawmakers Move to Put Privacy Controls in Place for UAVs

DoT Opposes Early Start for Navigation Messages on New Civil GPS Signals

The U.S. Department of Transportation (DoT) is asking the Air Force to cancel its plan to add navigation data to two key civil GPS signals this year, saying they are concerned that the approach and "nonstandard engineering tools" military officials plan to use could put GPS users at risk. (more)

India Certifies GAGAN for En Route and NPA Flight Operations

India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) provisionally certified the nation's Satellite Based Augmentation System (SBAS) - the GPS Aided Geo Augmented Navigation (GAGAN) system - to RNP0.1 (Required Navigation Performance, 0.1  Nautical Mile) service level on December 30, 2013. (more)

Enhanced Differential Loran Maritime Trials in The Netherlands

The Dutch Pilots Corporation and Reelektronika announced on January 7 that the successful development and test of an Enhanced Differential Loran (eDLoran) backup to GNSS in The Netherlands. (more)
