Provider engagement is key to success for Lifespan Healthy Rewards

In 2013 Lifespan introduced its new wellness program, Lifespan Healthy Rewards. The program is designed to encourage Lifespan Health members to work with their health care provider to jointly determine ways to live a healthier life. The support from health care providers is key to the program's success.

"I think having the PCPs doing the screening is great vs. how it was done in the past; it gives you an opportunity to talk with your doctor."~ Lifespan Healthy Rewards Participant

Rhode Island Quality Institute Relationship Managers Receive NCQA PCMH Content Expert Certification

RI Regional Extension Center's (RI REC) Relationship Managers, Andrea Levesque and Sue Dettling, recently completed training and certification requirements for the NCQA PCMH Content Expert Certification. Certified content experts are required to complete two NCQA educational seminars, pass a comprehensive exam and commit to continuous learning and recertification to maintain the credential. As a result of these achievements and RI REC's commitment to the provider community, the Rhode Island Quality Institute is listed on the PCMH Partners in Quality page on the NCQA website.

NCQA's PCMH Recognition Program is one of the most sought after and widely accepted PCMH programs in the nation. Becoming NCQA-recognized requires deliberate strategies and efforts in transforming a practice into a medical home, and PCMH content experts play an important role in facilitating the process.

For the past four years, the RI REC has assisted practices with achieving Meaningful Use. While this service continues, the RI REC is also available to assist practices with implementing CurrentCare services and with applying for and reaching PCMH recognition.
