                COFFEE WITH COUNCIL CHAIRMAN LARRY SACHER

On Thursday, April 9, 2015, the Marco Island Property Owners will sponsor "Coffee with Chairman Larry Sacher", at 10 am in the Dr. Fay and Bedford Biles Community Room (City Council Meeting Room) located at 51 Bald Eagle. 

 

This town hall forum is open to the public and is an opportunity for all Marco Island Residents to become current on City issues, express their concerns, or ask Chairman Sacher questions in an informal and friendly venue before the Council's April 13, 2015 Utility Rate Workshop. 

 

This workshop will affect every property owner on Marco Island.

    CITY COUNCIL UTILITY RATE STRUCTURE WORKSHOP, 

                              Monday, April 13, 1 PM.  

The Workshop discussions will include the water/wastewater rate structure, and Marco utilities future capital needs approaching $300 million while it is already $150 million in debt. How will council address the utility debt issues? By increasing the rates by 2% each year?  Implementing special assessments?  

 

The Reconsideration of non-STRP vacant lot assessments for wastewater will also be discussed during this workshop. Council recently voted against assessing non-STRP vacant lot owners for wastewater, yet also voted against reimbursing the STRP vacant lot owners for the money they have paid for the wastewater assessment. MIPO questions "How is this fair and equitable for all Marco Island property owners"?

 

This important workshop is open to the public and affects all property owners on Marco Island.
