Greetings!
I hope everyone had an enjoyable Thanksgiving holiday. It's hard to believe that we are almost at the end of the year. Chanukah is only a week away! Next Sunday, December 6 at 9 AM, Rabbi Mike will lead an adult education session on Chanukah. Then, on Wednesday afternoon, December 9 at 5:30 PM, everyone is invited to our Chanukah celebration. Join us for latkes, games, chanukiah lighting and a play by our talmidim (students). For more information, check in our newsletter below.
This past Friday night, some of us got together to "unplug and connect" at our lay-lead Kabbalat Shabbat service. It was wonderful to see Jacob Robins home from college for Thanksgiving weekend and we all enjoyed the service he led with his father, Barry.
This coming Saturday is another opportunity to "unplug and connect" at a Shabbat service on December 5 at 9:30 AM. In addition to our regular, warm, spiritual, participatory service, Jordan Chastanet will be called to the Torah as a Bat Mitzvah.

Bring your chanukiah (1 per family) for the group candle lighting!
Our talmidim (students) have been working on a play to entertain us all. Thank you to everyone who brought in recyclables today. I'm not exactly sure what they are doing with them, but it has something to do with the play.
We do need help with this event. Please sign-up by either selecting the link below or emailing me.

A Great Cultural Opportunity!
|
I want to encourage you to take advantage of a wonderful Jewish cultural opportunity coming to our area early next month (OK, it's in Newton, but it's not that far-I make the trip all the time!)
Mordecai Rosenstein is an internationally known Judaic artist, and he will be coming to Temple Emanuel in Newton December 2-6. There are numerous opportunities to see Mordecai's work and to interact with him- the details are in the accompanying attachments - Artist Reception Rosentstein Poster Board.
Mordecai does some incredible things with Hebrew letters. Once you are familiar with his style, you can spot his work easily, as it's very unique. His art is also very colorful and attractive. I know Mordecai (it's a Philadelphia connection), and he's very engaging and quite a character! We have a few of Mordecai's pieces, including paintings and ritual items.
So if you're free for any of the multiple sessions that are being offered, I recommend your taking advantage of this great opportunity!
Rabbi Mike
